Our Team

Ashley Marlowe

Hello! My name is Ashley and I am so excited to be the team’s President this year! I am a junior from Andover, Kansas majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I started riding horses when I was eight and I started jumping just a few years later. I have a horse named Tantor and he and I competed in Jumpers for six years. Since starting college, I haven’t been able to take him to school with me so I joined the Hunt Seat team to be able to continue riding and competing without a horse of my own. This will be my third year on the team and I cannot wait to meet more amazing people!

Ashley Zimonick

Vice President

My name is Ashley, I am from Green Bay, Wisconsin and I am in the graduating class of 2021. I am an Animal Science major with an emphasis on the pre-vet track. I had little riding experience before joining the Western team my sophomore year, I wish I would have joined my first year at school but I am glad I did end up finding the team. I would love to own a horse of my own someday, but for now my family just has one little dog named Twix.

Madeline Hildebrandt

Hunt Team Captain

Hey everyone! My name is Madeline Hildebrandt. I am the U of M Hunt Seat captain. As a junior here at the U, I’m studying Communications and Graphic Design. I’ve been riding since I was 8 years old and have been doing English since I was 10. In high school I took some time off for school reasons but even with taking a break, I found myself missing riding and wanting to get back into it. I’m new to Hunt Seat still, as I was more of an eventer back in the day, but I’ve found the U of M equestrian team a great way to get back into riding while also keeping up with my studies. I hope to see some new faces next year!

Lexi Simonson

Western Team Co-Captain

Hi! I'm Lexi a junior from Woodbury, MN studying Animal Science with a Pre-Vet emphasis, and last year was my first year on the team. I joined the team so I could continue to ride and show during college and grow as a rider. I’ve been riding horses since I was eleven years old. I currently show my horse, Kid, at WSCA shows in the all-around pleasure events. Outside of horses I show many livestock animals including dairy cattle, sheep, and pigs.

Katie Massing

Western Team Co-Captain

Hi there everyone! My name is Katie and I’m a senior graduating this fall. I’m pursuing a degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Production! This is currently my second year with the team. Whenever I’m not at the barn, I’m spending time with my dog or usually knitting something. I’m one of the co-captains for the Western team so let me know if you have any questions!

Amber Brink

Hi guys! My name is Amber and I am a junior from Greeley, Colorado studying Animal Science with a minor in Agriculture Business. This will be my first year as Secretary and my second year on the team. I took lessons when I was 6 years old for a couple summers and have been riding off and on since then and worked on a farm with horses through high school. I joined the Western Team my sophomore year and am so glad I found the team! It’s a great way to learn how to ride and make great memories with some really cool people. I am looking forward to another year spent at the barn and traveling to shows with friends!

Taylor Chevalier

Hi everyone! I am a sophomore from Plymouth, MN majoring in Animal Science. While I don’t own a horse of my own, I have been riding since about 6 years old, both Western and English, and work at a camp with horses during the summers! I joined the Hunt team last year and had a blast meeting everyone and hanging out with the horses. I’m excited to serve as the Fundraising Chair for the upcoming school year!

Gabriella Nothaft

Hi! My name is Gabriella, and I come from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am a sophomore majoring in Math and Chemistry. I have been riding horses since I was ten, and started jumping shortly after that. Currently, I work over breaks at the barn where I ride back home in Brazil. I joined the Hunt Seat team in my first year so I could keep riding during college. I do not have my own horse, and I love that the team allows us to ride and compete with the team’s horses!
